Just found a new interview with Bill Bruford that he gave to Modern Drummer. Very interesting...

As other posters have said, there were tracks that Gentle Giant performed live from Three Friends. However, I don't think they ever played any of the songs from Acquiring The Taste in concert...
Barclay James Harvest "Barclay James Harvest" limited 3CD/1DVD box set incl. hi-res 5.1 mix (Esoteric UK)

Life Is a Long Song: Jethro Tull Celebrates 50 Years with Two New Collections
Jethro Tull, led by founding member Ian Anderson, is currently out on tour with a 50th anniversary show, and now,...
Indeed; U.K.'s first album was released in March 1978. For me, it's the last great British Prog Rock LP. It would be nice to see a 5.1 remix by Steve Wilson (on Blu-Ray with all the trimmings and...
Looks nice. I'll look for a copy of Uncut's Yes: The Ultimate Music Guide at my local newsstand. Thanks for sharing Realprog.
"Sweet Dreams" was also featured on the Songs From Tsongas-35th Anniversary Concert DVD.
It's obvious that when Yesterdays was first released, Atlantic Records used 'nth' generation masters from the first two Yes albums (or used the 'best available' 45 of "Dear Father" they could find). ...
I picked up the Jaco documentary when it first came out on Blu-Ray about two years ago. I still think it's an insightful tribute to the man, his music and his tragic struggle with mental illness. ...
Good call. I should've listed both "Free Hand" & "On Reflection" (I also thought about GG's "It's Only Goodbye" but they had started to leave Prog Rock behind by that time).
Rolling Stone Magazine did a good piece of The Dark Side Of the Moon for it's 45th Anniversary.
...
How about Gentle Giant's "On Reflection"? Sounds like a good Prog break-up song to me.
Here are interviews with Roxy Music band members Phil Manzanera & Andy Mackay from the Super Deluxe Edition website. They discuss the band and the new box set.

Some of my favorite Prog intros;
Pink Floyd-"Echoes", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"
King Crimson-"Larks' Tongues In Aspic (Part 1)", "Starless", "The Great Deceiver"
Yes-"Siberian Khatru",...
Yes! I'll always love Genesis' Nursery Cryme. The album successfully builds on the template of Trespass with stronger songs (and playing).
1. "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow/Nanook Rubs It/St. Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast/Father O'Blivion"
2. "We Are Not Alone"
3. "Inca Roads"
For me, KC's "Starless" will always be a high point of '70s Prog and King Crimson's career. Also feel that while it was a shame that Fripp felt the need to leave both Crimson & the Music Biz behind...
Great interview with GG's Derek Shulman. Thanks Alucard for sharing!
"Dancing With The Aged Knight"
No details yet but Led Zeppelin's How The West Was Won is getting the "Super Deluxe Treatment".

I'm disappointed but not surprised. Thanks to Rush for all the Great Music they've done and as the song from Clockwork Angels says, "Wish Them Well".
I'm so very sorry to hear about Ray Thomas of The Moodies. Condolences to his Family, Friends & Colleagues.
Procol Harum "Still There'll Be More: An Anthology 1967-2017" 5CD/3DVD box set (Esoteric UK)
Esoteric Recordings are proud to announce the release of an official limited edition super deluxe...
It's a very tough call but I'd have to say my favorite KC drummer is Michael Giles. His work on ITCOTCK & ITWOP is outstanding and sets the tone for everything that came later (up to the present...
My take on Zeppelin's The Song Remains The Same is that;
1. It was filmed on the final shows of their 1973 tour. The band was tired and it showed.
2. The movie wouldn't have come out at all if it...
Thanks John for your Best of 2017 list (and for your reviews throughout the year). Happy Holidays & Happy New Year to you and yours.
Jimmy Page says Unheard Led Zeppelin songs Coming Next Year
Jimmy Page recently said he's heading back into Led Zeppelin's vaults for the band's 50th anniversary next year, and he noted there will...
Led Zeppelin Prep 50th Anniversary Illustrated Book
Led Zeppelin will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an illustrated book created with input from the band's three surviving members: Jimmy...
I took to KC's Discipline right away. While being a complete change from what they did in the '70s, I loved the all songs on the album (as well as the new sounds from the band members). Also, saw...
Add my name to the list of folks who chose the studio version of "Starless" as the best one. I feel that by the time KC recorded the song for Red, the band had jelled after two years of road (and...
Question: what happened to "The Numberer" (non LP B-side to the "Virginia Plain" single). I don't see it included in the track listing for this set.
Roxy Music "Roxy Music (Super Deluxe Edition)" 3CD/1DVD box set including Steven Wilson 5.1 mix (Virgin UK)
Roxy Music’s ground-breaking debut album is expanded in an exclusive super-deluxe...
What I meant was I was fooled by the title of this post (and certainly not referring to Phil Collins-or anyone for that matter-as a fool).
Well as Phil sang on Selling England By The Pound, "More Fool Me". Anyway, thanks for sharing the picture of (most of the classic line-up) Genesis with Floyd's Nick Mason.
The only TV documentary on Prog Music that works for me is the BBC Rock Britannia. I haven't see any of the Romantic Warriors docs so I comment on them.
I vote NO. KC doesn't need a light show to "improve" their show (and I'm sure that RF wouldn't allow it). Just the simple overhead Blue lights that they had (which changed to Red during "Starless")...
Had a BLAST at the Beacon last night with King Crimson. Enjoyed hearing everything they played and "Breathless" & "Moonchild" were the biggest surprises. For me, this Crimson lineup has something...
I love Crimson's ballads. For me, they provide much needed breaks from the intensity of the rest of their material (while showing the full range of this band's abilities). My favorite ballads by KC...
Great review of KC's Sailors' Tales set. While it may be a long one to read, it's very detailed and a box set like this one deserves no less. Thanks again John!
My take on this is Kansas Did did some of the best Progressive Rock of the '70s (with songs like "Magnum Opus", "The Spider", "Journey From Mariabronn", "Song For America" and others). They just did...
John, I'm truly sorry to hear that you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Please take it easy and take as long as you need to do your fine work.
Cheers' YJ
Even though I'm not getting KC's Sailor's Tales box set (or the expanded edition of Earthbound), I look forward to reading your review at AAJ.
Great review of the Bruford Box Set. And as you mentioned in you're closing paragraph, I hope that they consider "standalone releases" of the new versions of Feels Good To Me, One Of A Kind &...
I feel that if The Beatles had stayed together, they would've done one (maybe two) songs in the Prog style. One thing about the band is that they managed to stay in step with most of trends in Rock...
So sorry to hear about Fats Domino. He'll Always be remembered as one of the Founding Fathers of Rock & Roll.
Thanks for sharing Brave73! Great interview with Geddy Lee (now all we need are interviews with Neil Peart & Alex Lifeson).
The details about the set state that that 5.1 surround mix (on the Blu-Ray) is 'brand new' (and remixed by Steven Wilson).
Rush - A Farewell To Kings 40th Anniversary Release
On December 1, Rush will release a lavish, new and expanded edition of the* landmark album A Farewell to Kings — the fifth studio album...
Great interview with GG's Derek Shulman. Thanks for sharing, Bruno (and I look forward to hearing the forthcoming instalments when they show up on YouTube).

Nothing new from the DGM site about this. The last interview from Bill (when he rejoined the band after the last sabbatical) said that he would not disclose the reasons for his 'time outs' from...
Here's another one; on Bruford's Feels Good To Me, Bill Bruford credits include "tunes & final say".
The credits for Kansas' Point Of Know Return LP had one weird instrumental credit for each member of the band (such as "autogyro", "Peabody Chromatic Inverter", "Rinaldo Whistling Machine" and so on).
King Crimson had some unusual credits on their albums;
On Discipline, Adrian Belew is credited on "elephantosity" (and Bill Bruford is credited for "batterie").
On Larks' Tongues In Aspic, Jamie...

John, Thanks for the extensive review of KC's Live In Chicago. I'll be seeing them in NYC next month and I can't wait!
I keep coming back to Progressive Ears for the discussions about Progressive Rock and to learn about new releases (and reissues) from my favorite prog bands. It's also a great place to find...
