I managed to get my oldest son and my dad to go to the Moving Pictures tour - 3 generations at a Rush show works for me! :)
My first hero - I spent my life from about 8 to now with Rush - when I turned a teenager and a few years beyond I listened mostly Rush. Zappa too but Rush was my bag. Neil had a musical touch - his...
This video is why I wont waste my money - they sound like a bunch of high school kids playing a cover. Sounds like shit.
Freak Out! --- I started in the basement - first one - still my favorite for many reasons
Hot Rats --- Just get it -
Roxy and Elsewhere --- Loads of great moments - vocal and musical -
Joe's...
agreed - even then it might have been blah... That album is heavy tempo - and you mess with that - its over. For me at least.
Doesnt quite click in with me either - I've tried for a year or so - its good - just not what I would reach for repeatedly.
my exact thoughts first time too - but it does have depth and its coming through more and more.
twice through - growing on me already - I'll be on repeat tonight for sure. By tomorrow I'll have a growth the size of Texas.
Hot Damn! Thanks for the heads up - just got paid too. :)
Shit... I have a pic of me and Benoit - I wonder where these talented people will land? Sucks.
Lost Crowns @ ABC Convention, Salisbury
Gong @ ABC Convention
Display Team @ ABC Convention
Arch Garrison @ ABC
Thank you sir! Always nice to get solid info. BTW - dropped you a PM. :)
Gloomy News is indeed missing - they played it at the DVD party they put on as far as I know. Someone will need to verify that since I wasnt able to go. I landed in Cardiacs land about 5 years ago...
Dropped a few bucks on it... really anything with Dave Kerman involved is an autobuy for me - but then again - Present is ALWAYS autobuy. :)
Leaving this here - Spratleys fans - rejoice!
John Gee - Guitars, Vocals
Jesse Cutts - Bass, Guitars, Vocals, Keys
Jo Spratley - Vocals on Fragil
...
bummer... I wanted to go this month to the big Spratleys/Panixphere gig - family obligations though - so I'll take another Admiral's show. Love those.
Gotz my tickets for this little ditty. Anyone else going? Oh... had to buy plane tickets too. haha 13571
I was lucky enough to get the Egg signed when it came out. Might be my most cherished CD since Clive is no longer with us. :(
Took me years to digest the first one - still delivering joy all day and night. :)
You summed up my thoughts on Enduring the American Dream perfectly. :)
These two would be my recommendation. :)
Shit yeah! THanks for the news Steve. :)
Hell yeah - I have all their stuff. :)
OMG - Thank you for the link - I'm definitely checking this out! :)
I have this discussion with the wife - "what are you doing with that massive pile of space eaters?" I am totally digital - but I sure do miss the handling and reading of booklets and liner notes -...
you guys ever hear Jon's early versions of his tunes from STG? A Horse's Tail - Bell Stinks - Bell Clinks.
Hi there Kavus. :) Hugs. x
Good stuff in person too. I might have to indulge this afternoon. Hiding Place. :)
bumped - cocaine is a helluva drug... :)
:)
Been listening on Spotifuck this morning - sounds solid. I've listened to so many shows from this tour now I'm not as pumped up as I thought I would be... but still - the improv segments should...
I'm about to start a gofundme page for this sucker... gah!! I want it so bad.
Ya man... mine was $55 in the end - and this is a center and about 15 rows back - and a SEAT! Hallelujah! Havent seen a DZ show in a seat since Vegas on the first tour. :)
Gotz my tickets for Austin in Feb - Feb wont suck now. Yay!
Having heard it about 4 times over - this seems to be correct... Bataclan - except a couple tunes just sounds totally different to me. Win all over the place. So good.
All his playing with Miles was an adventure. Love his ring-modulated rhodes and all that. So cool.
Need to check it out. I still like Eeps the most but maybe this is my new love.
A trio indeed. Might tear yer face off.
LMAO
I like to think its about flavors - some food is texture-based bliss - some food tastes good but has a texture that sucks - Tool is like this for me - if they used a different guitar tone or lost...
I just read it too - wow... friggin awesome little story. I too am frothing a bit!
Thank you for the reflections and the cool music list! Yew's Paw - mmmmm... love that. I havent heard Moving Waves in forever... have to pull that out. Cheers! EK
...and yet... bores the shit out of me. Oh well...
Ace. It deserves major kudos all around. Great album and fine work man.
Cant wait for my cuddly little piece of art from Bob on this new release - it sounds amazing - and a little different than Bob's previous albums. :) All fabulous.
"Production is stupidly pristine and the performance is super tight."
for some reason or another - this is the kind of thing that scares me - super tight and uber production doesnt necessarily...
oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy... to think I was only a few days old when this concert happened. :)
If you havent listened to 'Sever Roots Tree Dies' - you should.
I'm pretty sure he got everything done and all is better - but I need to make sure I'm not crazy - I know I saw a kickstarter update not too long ago. I shall dig --- EDIT ---- "Hey all!
Here...
cassettes - haha. pass.
Donnt know what the new one is like - I tossed vinyl a long time ago. Fades sort of slid by me since I'm on the web sub - a lot of it was in my head already but its nice to hear as an album.
Like the what? 3rd tweez on the 77 Animals show in Oakland - its realy damn good sounding and I agree - I'll take that audience ambiance anyday - Genesis and those OAM recordings to the board -...
Exactly. Some very ugly sounding shows are my favorites. I think you tend to get acclimated as time goes by. When I read about someone complaining about sound on a professional recording I find it...
Agreed! That for me - is the best of that tour. I tend to enjoy audience recordings more just because I like to hear how instruments sound across different venues etc... sometimes the snare is badass...
After the earlier ones - 7 is one of my favs.
This sums my view up perfectly. ^^ :)
Yeah... great stuff. I have to spend some time with that PDF - loads to check out. :)
Nails Did. :)
I'm inclined to agree - but we never know who really triddles the knobs on those pages - unless you are indeed correct that its Lesley. I hope its true... I'd love to hear more - more more more!
Tried numerous times to get into Tool - never works - this new ones sounds like all the rest but I dont know their music that well anyway.
