"Song Cycle" Van Dyke Parks
Side one of ZZ Top's 'Fandango' album.
Hugely disappointed that no-one has nominated Pablo Cruise whose logo symbolises summertime in the late 70's.
I would describe him as 'stiff' and 'un-swinging.' If he's a jazz drummer, I'm a - uh - dutch...monkey's...er - uncle...
Royal Trux, 'Sweet Sixteen.'

Insisting on referring to Ali as "Cassius Clay" is the hallmark of the two-bit hillbilly racist.
Also what was a teenage girl doing in his hotel room, if it wasn't to get raped in the first place...
"Low Spark" is about the music business.
The Poweder Monkeys tune 'Take It Out on You' fades in and finishes with an abrupt cut mid-word. Must have seemed like a killer idea at the time.
Joni's version is far heavier than the CSNY one
Too busy eating, apparently.
It's like 'Legos'
Ol' Black Eyes has left the building.
They should have made Hammer stick to electric piano and got rid of the violin player, then they would have been perfect!
Billy Gibbons on side one of Fandango.
Cheap Trick had at least two but probably plenty more.
IT'S A BOMBER

OVERKILL!
OVERKILL!
Sad news but kind of a miracle he lasted this long.
I think the loud drums were the worst thing about 80's music - because they were so loud and pronounced in the mix they had to be absolutely spot-on timing-wise; as a result sequencing and so on came...
Ironic cover versions - wink wink, we all know this is a crappy song but if we [a) do a mushy ballad metal or punk-style or b)do a metal or punk song mushy ballad style] we can all have a good laugh...
No love for Misty Hyman?
Sneed's Seed and Feed (formerly Gluck's)
Basically the only thing wrong with 80's music was the shitty digital sound.

It's the difference between "progressive rock" and "Prog Rock."
Ian Kilmister.
Tom Petersson.
Mel Schacher.
Bootsy.
Andrew Weiss.
You gots to be kidding - handclaps are where its at! You probably hate bass drum pedal squeaks too, you heathen
It's like the end of that episode of The Simpsons where Bart wins an elephant.
I prefer this thread to the original, will go with: Royal Trux "Money for Nothing"; Mark Lanegan Band "Clear Spot'; Blue Cheer "Summertime Blues"; The MC5 "I Want You Right Now."
Got a good one: "If You Don't Like Hank Williams" by Kris Kristofferson - Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Joni Mitchell, the Stones, etc etc.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
Holy moly!

Professional sportsmen contribute as much if not more to society than, say, professional musicians.
...and a terrific commentator!
Correct
What's wrong with you, man?
I believe the correct spelling (at least in the late 80's/early 90's) was 'grebo'; see bands like Pop Will Eat Itself (their 'This Is The Day' album is a prog classic) and perhaps The Wonder Stuff
...Helter Skelter....
Walter Becker - 11 Tracks of Whack - is pretty good.
Don't think so - I have the cassette.

Does music belong in comedy?

The Dictators (in 'Two Tub Man'): "I think Lou Reed is a creep."
There's the LA band X and the Melbourne band X.
I believe that both the Velvet Underground and the Grateful Dead were both originally called the Warlocks. Not sure if you'd call them the same...
How about this one?

Are you all talking about the Alan White who played with Yes in the 70's and whose drums always sounded like badly recorded cardboard boxes?
Does side one of 'Reign In Blood' By Slayer count? (never really bothered to listen to side two.)
'Thick as a Brick' is probably stretching the point, but what about 'Sly and the Family Stones's...
The Minotaur - Dick Hyman
Jon Lord should have stuck to playing the 4ths & 5ths rhythm guitar parts - nobody wants to hear an organ solo in the middle of a heavy rock song.
