I got mine at the box office yesterday. 4 for $100 is a good deal, in my book. The last solo show didn't sell out, so I don't see a hurry to buy.
Wilson's last show with Blackfield, and their only Us show. May 1, Best Buy, NYC. Anyone else up for this? Tickets go on sale this week.
I liked the scene where the two guys were fighting over the bed, and the loser wound up facing Rick while he died( I think he died)
I didn't think much of the Christmas special, but the 50th show kicked ass. New shows in Febuary?
Fun stuff. One of my friends posts a lot of it on Facebook, and I've been watching for the first time in years.
Why would anyone give a shit about the hall of fame?
He's a really funny guy, and he gets to do whatever he wants. When we did the Hubert Sumlin benifit, he spent the entire rehersal in a chair, smoking, while Clapton bossed people around. During the...
In the late 70's, early 80's, I would see the same people at punk shows that I would at Gabriel or Crimson. It attracted a lot of the same people, who were bored with the mainstream and hated the...
I saw the BB's play several little shitholes back in the day. Pretty wild stuff. The way i look at it, the punk thing was mostly about getting out and doing it, instead od sitting around waiting...
It was fun, but I don't beleive in spending time over anaylzing tv shows.
They did a good job with it. The script was great, and they didn't ham it up, too much.
We workrd with him and Wood last year. Nice guy, but he wanted a free amp ( Keith pays, you pay). I saw him with the Brothers, and he was good then, also.
I managed Performance Sound in the early 80's and the owner, T, was Chango's organist. The B 3 and the labled road cases were in the studio.
They don't make axes like they used to. Good episode, and a lot of set ups for the next one, including Rick's talk with Daryll.
Great stuff. I love Beck's tone on these albums.
set to record - my 18 year old is a big fan
I enjoy the solo and the P Tree stuff, and consider them two different styles. I'd love to see a reunion, mostly to hear the P tree cataolg played live.
Well, they have a lot more people to die off, but they're down to five( I believe) survivors from season 1.
cool
bad news / good news- Zombie nightmare- spending it in the liquor store. No AA meetings anymore.
good 1st episode. Rick the pacifist was interesting.
The " Zombie Rain" thing was cool, along with the token Irish woman.
The first few were great, but then the end of the cold war blew him out of the water. He was much better writting about hardware, not so good with people.
Get the recent live DVD, Anesthetize. Great live versions and a lot of oditties.
I'm looking forward to it, but not as much as my son. You have all the survivors from the town in the prison, and supposedly, the zombies will be more organized.
I'm in the well to do area, but they're aren't many conservatives here.
I guess I was in Junior high, and when Tarkus, Aqualung and Fragile came out around the same time, I got hooked. They all were reviewed in the local papers, and got a fair amount of airplay in NYC.
I watched one of the races on Sunday- I was amazed at how short the races were. I remember them taking 3 hours or so in the old days. The Kiwis will be tough to beat.
I would love to see them again, but mostly for the older songs. On the other hand, if they came back with a great new album, I would be extremely happy.
Looks good!
I enjoy it a lot, but I don't think it sounds like any era of PT. I only wish wilson played more Eletric on it, even thou Govan's solos are pretty amazing.
The amp you use makes a bigger difference than with a Gibson. I like the combo of Tele and overdrive, like a Marshall or Mesa. They don't do anything for me with a clean tone.
yup He cranked it up.
I played with a guy named David Tronzo years ago - he was pretty amazing.
I believe they only work in a small window of wind conditions- not enough, no speed, a bit too much, and they tear apart. At least two have sunk in the last several months.( one of Ellison's, and an...
I'll start paying more attention when the finals start. These boats are pretty crazy, and I hope they have the right conditions for the races.
Hound dog Taylor, but Syd Barret played some real cool stuff.
Don't own ( or remember hearing), any of 'em, other than "I'm in you", which was a career killer for a very taleted Frampton.
Fat synths? My favorite examples are "One of our submarines", by Dolby, and " Slow motion", by Ultravox!
I go to a lot of shows with Lou Rosano (Louis Electric amps). If I get bored, I'll tell him the amps need more Mid range. He'll run through the place, onto the stage, and turn it up ( he does build...
Why would anyone, ever, think Hoffa is in NJ? He disapeared in Michigan, and there's a whole lot of nothing between the two.
Robin Trower, MSG, in 1976 (or so). We were in the third row, and it took weeks to recover.
Judging by your original song list, I'm guessing you enjoy sitting in dentist's offices, and riding up in down in elevators.
15 years or so ago, I was sitting at a bar next to some middle aged woman. When she got up to go, the bartender asked me if I recognized her as MTM. I had no idea.
Diana Rigg, the Avengers.
Bummer. they were the ultimate bar band.
cool. Last year's show in NY was great.
bummer
The 12 string on the early Stones singles was always way out. My Les Paul is extremely stable, as long as I break new strings in before playing on stage.
he was in the right place at the right time, but so was Jim Marshall
We named the kid after him, but we didn't feed him cat food.
Why would you think the pistols couldn't play? (other than sid). Steve did a great job on Instinct( Iggy), and Cook and Matlock were pretty good, also.
My favorite Cramps story- it was 79 or 80, and in the middle of a song he dived into the crowd. all you could see was the bottom of his shoes, but he was still singing. And I'll take the Rammones...
I don't give a rat's ass what they call it, but I hope it's as good as the last one, which I liked better than the the previous few.
999 was pretty cool, and the Clash was one of the best bands I've seen live. Most of the better know bands had at least a few songs I like, but I never got into the hardcore movement.
I used to read his column in Guitar Player. A shame, for sure.
Love it, but I tend to play the live stuff more.
cool- great shots.
I hear Traffic ( John Barley corn era), in some parts, with the flute
