Yeah, I didn't took it that way at all. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement, very appreciated!

Ha! Thanks! The 4:20 lenght was a coincidence, honestly. I don't do that stuff or any other for that matter even if my music might tell otherwise. Not judging, just sayin'.
I did tell my parents...
New two track release, instrumental chill out stuff

I "composed" this song last night. Maybe a mood piece is a better description and the actual composing was just using parts from another song. The "mother" song is rather sinister and strange, the...
Yeah, Rauch mod gives a pretty good Ric neck pickup impression 'though the Gibson EB "mudbucker" is much more powerful and darker sounding than a Ric neck PU.
As it happens I also have a Jazz Bass...
I got this Jazz Bass body from a friend a while ago. Some cheap no-name body and decided to do some pickup placement experiments I have wanted to do for some time now.
Richard Sinclair's "The...
If I may add my Spotify and facebook links. The latter has some blog style writing about the songs not always to be taken too seriously.
...
Thanks! The Thorns and Matthew Sweet are familiar to me but I doubt if the singer know either. Anyway, I let him compose the vocal melodies and acted as a co-producer with the harmonies. I first...
Thanks! Very appreciated! I actually recall the first time I listened to Echolyn ("As The World" back in 1995) so that was a huge compliment.
I actually tried to capture a Max Webster kind of vibe...
Here's two from an earlier batch. The first is a half-improvised ambient tribute to a certain bass legend, the second is blues prog for a lack of a better term.

Hi! It's been a while since I logged in here. I've been doing this "solo project" for some time and thought some people here might get something out of it. I have a site at bandcamp.com (...
That's a great one and John G. does a stellar job on the whole album. "Farewell My Friend"
is another favourite from this excellent album.
My 6:
Max Webster: Paradise Skies (Dave Myles)...
Not sure about the overdubs but it wasn't an opening track at that point of the tour but a first encore before "Caesar's Palace Blues.
😁
Thanks Tom, doin' great. Just rehearsed three Pekka Pohjola tunes I have to play with my mates as an opening "act" to a local jam session. "Have to" sounds bad, "honoured" is better.
Great!😊
I really like the single. The A-side has a great funky bassline and the song is one of the few moments where Gentle Giant sounds a bit like Jethro Tull. A distant cousin of "Third Hoorah"....
Are there really any "big" synth solos on "Images At Twilight" in the vein of Rochon's Moog solo on "Humble Stance" for example? I'm not saying there isn't but I can't remember.
His backing...
Not to mention that his name gets spelled wrong almost as often as Tim Bogert's...;)
Sorry. 😊 And thanks for reminding of Sulton. Excellent bassist and vocalist.
A few more words: Go For The Throat :)
Petersson is a great player and what I really love is his tone. Always changing, always interesting.
He is good. I'll add one too:
Tom Petersson
My favourites:
Yes: Roundabout
Yes: America
-I love the long versions but these single-edits have a certain charm and it's a pity that the short and concise version of "Roundabout" hasn't been...
"I Know What I Like" didn't bomb as far as I know and I like it. A great but weird little pop song with a good bassline.
"Your Own Special Way" isn't that special, I agree, but at least the...
They didn't get along with Chadd and according to some sources most of the keyboards on "Images At Twilight" were played by Jim Crichton and Michael Sadler.
There's at least his vocals on the album...
Ha! Just got the "Gateway" album a few days ago and really love Dave Holland's playing and tone on it. Another similar trio on ECM with DeJohnette on drums
is the one with Terje Rypdal and Miroslav...
In Esoteric's reissue Dave Greenslade says that he can't remember why they (him and Lawson) worked alone and also he thinks that it didn't affect on the quality of the material.
The liner notes...
"Spyglass Guest" is the best in my opinion. "Joie De Vivre" is probably their greatest song.
My favs are both "Movies" albums, "Something There" and "Live", which is a superb driving album. If the weather is stormy, rainy and the sky is about to fall.
Interesting thing about the keysmen and their gear is that they "swapped the organ" before "Spyglass Guest". Dave Greenslade used to play the RMI piano live and the Hammond work was done by Lawson,...
Enjoyed that, thanks!
One "flaw" 'though: Greg Chadd played with Max after his stint with Saga and was part of the 5 man lineup that featured Mike Gingrich on bass and Steve McMurry on second...
Yeah, he could play fast sixteenth notes alongside Cobham. With his thumb. Doug was one of the innovators of slap technique and he differed from Larry Graham that he used only his thumb. He was most...
Does Doni Harvey sing any lead vocals? I believe he had a serious Hendrix fixation down to his looks.
Todd agrees that his old albums sound better on cd. I've been satisfied with my Essential remasters from late '90s with nice sleevenotes from Paul Lester. These cover the Bearsville era from "Runt"...
Of course it was.
Excellent cover that was too.
"Avoid The Year Of The Monkey" also appears on this album (along with John Marshall). Very recommended.

Basically it is. It has some keyboards by Dave Lawson and IIRC some different vocals from Nikki Squire.
That is a great album and at the moment my only Mariano solo album in addition to "Reflections" (1974). Have you heard his 1974 Keytone release called "Cascade"? It features John Lee and Gerry Brown...
I just read from David Foster's site that he died in last November. I also didn't know about the controversy of his lack of credits for "Yours Is No Disgrace".
I had all the Flash albums once and...
He played a fretless Fender Precision before he got the Wal for "Masques".
Me too, he has a great voice and Terry Watkinson's singing complements him perfectly. Gary McCracken's not so much but he sings only one song. :D Their biggest hit it was too!
I got the box set...
One of my fav tracks from "The Riddle" 'though it seems to get no respect when reading the album's revies ("no chorus" etc.). I love the instrumental middle part, very prog/fusion.
Of the first...
I ordered mine today. With the current Euro vs. Canadian Dollar rate the cd version was as pricy as 50 euros and that includes shipping! :o Can't complain even 'though I have the lot on vinyl and the...
Brilliant album!
That's my favourite too. I love the experimental stuff on it ("Applebite" by Matt Cameron) and the psychedelic vibes. Great songs by Ben Shepherd and Chris.
Rest In Peace Chris. Terrible news.
Hmm, there's one strange thing on the "Hold Your Fire" disc one. "Tell Me Where You've Been" isn't the original version but a different take with just one guitar track and a different vocal. Why was...
Am I the only one who isn't a big fan of the vocals on this album? Great songs on it 'though and the Jan Hammer Group's live versions of those are even better. Hammer isn't no slouch on the drummers...
Basically they are not Colosseum II leftovers but intended for his solo album that was originally planned to be a mostly instrumental fusion stuff. That's why Simon Phillips plays the drums instead...
I pre-ordered all the Unicorn albums alongside the first two Patto cd's from Esoteric and they all arrived last friday 'though Patto's release date is still three weeks ahead! Ain't complainin'. :D...
Hi and sorry for the delay. You can buy it from me
The price is 30 dollars to the USA (includes the shipping). I'll send you a PM.
The album is already released on cd (12/15/2015) and it's available on spotify, youtube, soundcloud, iTunes and of course some people have already "liberated" it (illegal blogs where you can download...
Our latest album just came out on vinyl too.

Even Kerry played bass on stage sometimes and he was credited with bass on the debut also.

Eero Koivistoinen's "Wahoo" album (1973) has Heikki Virtanen and Ilkka Willman on electric bass. Recently released livesession of Jukka Tolonen's Ramblin Jazz Band from that same year has Virtanen...
I didn't buy a new bass but had an old one modified and that helped quite a bit with the GAS. :) My Telecaster bass has now a bridge pickup and since the mod was inspired by Chris Squire's old white...
Here's our only one at the moment:

The whole albums are on youtube too but they are not really videos, just tracks with an album sleeve to watch to....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0W_RQMxQzI
"Inside Me Wants Out" and "Who Am I Talking To" also. A great album.
Well, yes and no. The Hammersmith tracks on added to "Live" and also to "Tomorrow Belongs To Me" are a bit rougher sounding and for example "The Tale Of The Giant Stoneater" doesn't work as great on...
I find it odd too and Cheap Trick seems to have been settled on that "classic" setlist for years with an odd surprise or "deep cut" here and there (recently it seems to have been "Borderline"). A...
Yeah, Marshall Mintz, a photographer. The intro is of course taken from the track "High Priest Of Rhythmic Noise". Love the mellotron and Taurus pedals. Petersson's 12-string bass sound was at its...
Got it yesterday and while I haven't had a chance to listen it didn't disappint visually. The book has a nice essay and some great old photos.
1997 album is one of their best. And Cheap Trick is one of my fav bands ever. They aren't prog but on the other hand they are:
