Keith hand problem started in 1992 and got his first hand surgery in October of 1993.
If you think the Genesis is bad, wait till you'll see what they did to ELP's Picture At An Exhibition :lol :yell
As much as the 1973/74 setlist is amazing, ELP was playing everything at cocaine speed by that time and it's a bit much I find. Earlier tours were not like that.
I agree with everyone that Spartacus is a good album, ELP's obvious influences included (Karn Evil 9 Impression 1). The two that follow have some good tracks too, but not as good overall as...
Anybody find Jürgen Fritz technically good, but a poorer composer? Some of his stuff seems to be 30 seconds riffs attached together with hardly a good hook or transition. It's like he can't write...
Ok, a new selection from G to L :)
Gillan - Secret Of The Dance (1979)
Gomorrha - Dance On A Volcano (1972)
Granicus - You're In America (1973)
Hard Stuff - Mr Longevity-RIP (1972)
Haystacks...
That Frumpy album is killer and that track is Hammond tone heaven :horns
Here's some tracks I would suggest. Some of them are probably already there and I passed over them without noticing them ;)
Alamo - Bensome Changes (1971)
Alkana - Montezuma's Sweet Revenge...
Great 70s scene with lots of very different sounding bands, from symph to avant-garde to great jazz rock to more electronic things peppered with some theatricality. Big fan here too.
Indeed, indeed. Great great records.
There's also Nirvana's 1967 album The Story Of Simon Simopath where a story printed on the sleeve would connect the songs together.
No The Nice, no Prog :geezer
Hardin & York
Attila
Way too much 80s leftover production. Awful drum production + Carl not playing at all, no drive, no nothing. If I had to choose, I'd take ELPowell production over BM.
It took a rest and made a comeback on his 1981 solo album Honky.
I get more enjoyment from Love than both Black Moon and ITHS :horns :geezer
Not a bad homemade doc at all. His opinion of Pirates is the total opposite of mine.
I've been telling to a friend for years how much I would love an instrumental version of this album. There's...
Interesting. Adding it to my wishlist.
Don't miss Martin Barre. Awesome preformance. That would be quite the evening with JA, Hayward and Barre. Wow!!!
Mars is the least interesting song on the album I find. It's just a, nearly, note for note recreation. It lacks the ELP touch they were so good to inject before in their classical reinterpretation.
...
Rush shouldn't even be there and Tull shoud be 2nd :lol
The live production will probably sound less 80s particularly on the drum sound. I'm interested. It's really not a bad album (outside the 80s production) and I'll take it over 3, Black Moon and ITHS...
Nice thread. Discovering lots of "new" stuff to me :)
And it gains from multiple listens I think.
:heart
Although B3/C3 gets all the love, the Hammond L-100 was just pure magic :horns
Both Morse Code Transmission album were ok. A band looking for a sound and English sining. Don't need to get out of your way to get them I would say. Then they became Morse Code and started singing...
NNOOOOOO!!! :meh
Totally, so good :horns
Yes, totally, love it :up
Very cool. Thanks for that :horns
Right on. Although I can hear the ELP influences, I find the ELPishness is more apparent in their overall sound (The L-100 organ of The Nice and Keith synth sounds) rather than in the composition....
On Amazon Canada they seem to be available so far only from 3rd party/independent sellers.
I was wondering that too. Also, am I getting the old or A Live Record is not included?
Am I crazy or they just reissued the boxsets for Aqualung, SFTW and Minstrel???
Some Ebay sellers and JPC all have them at "normal" prices.
Incredible. Same here. Doing the Snoopy Dance in 15/8 here :horns
I have 2 out of 3, but with enough extra content, like good recordings of live stuff, I would be very interested.
Il Baricentro :)
Love BBS. It would be my #1 if the production would have been as good as Trilogy. Altough I like Benny, I would have swapped it for When The Apple Blossom... and then we would have gotten a 6 stars...
SBB, another very very good trio.

New clip just release Greg :horns
Anybody has seen an official statement on the reissue?
Everyday I'm hoping to wake up to the news that Taylor is doing the 70s Hammill Charisma year mege boxset dammit :geezer
He's so good and fun to watch. Thank. I'll get everything I can for Auger 60s/70s :cool
Thank you Mr. Krautman. The Trinity I will definitely get. I love Jools' singing and that swinging 60s sound.
Ok, just listened to the 2nd one. Pretty good too. Less Egg-ish, more symphonic maybe? I never tried it before based on the 1983 year of release, but it was really recorded in 1977, so everything...
Should we include Triana, the trio that always plays at least as a quatuor, quintet and more in the studio and live :D
One I like is Alas from Argentina. To my ears, they sounds closer to Egg than ELP. Only heard their first S/T from 1976.
Anybody got a physical copy of either or both boxsets for Trinity and Oblivion Express and care to comment. I'm tempted to pull the trigger. Don't have any physical Auger items, only mp3. I love that...
Oh, cool, I don't have the OT reflex :D Going to dive-in. Thanks.
Someone do an Auger thread dammit so I could learn more about him. I know some albums, but still not enough :cool
He got rid of it pretty early on I think. Ok, watching that video. Thanks for that.
And the only one, or one of the very very very few, to not use a Leslie as an amp too.
I have his 2nd, Score, that enjoy a lot. I heard Chimera is even better. Need it I guess ;)
Yeessss, hoping it is really true and will be patiently waiting for the other ones to be rereleased again :heart
Merci à vous deux, Calyx et Trane :)
Does anybody knows, Aymeric maybe, when was the word zeuhl was used for the first time by the press or something like that? It seems to be not before MDK (used in the lyrics) from what I gather, but...
Haven't got an email yet...
Just push down a bit and it comes out pretty easily. Same trick when you want to put the cd back in.
Mine is still not cancelled on JPC and still at 106,71 euros...Hope it stays like that :p
