Awesome, thanks for looking into the future for me.
Wish I had that super-power.

Awesome, thanks for looking into the future for me.
Wish I had that super-power.
Didn't know he did a solo album. I'd like to hear that.
No original members left.
But Sherwood is pretty tight with Tony Kaye, having played together in CIRCA:
Perhaps a 2-keysman lineup in the future?
Excellent, thanks mogrooves!
I have Lake II. It's alright. Worth a spin now and then.
I'm reminded of the episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch where Sabrina is wearing an Emerson College sweatshirt. Her boyfriend, who is hoping she'll decide to attend his college and not Emerson,...
I was binging out on the early, classic-era Saturday Night Live seasons and came across Sun Ra's phenomenal performances of "Space-Loneliness" and "Space is the Place."
So, I bought the album...
Some of their reviewers are insane.
Like the guy who reviewed the Yes BBC Sessions and berates the band for not including "The Prophet" and "Harold Land."
But
1. The band had nothing to do...
:) Yeah, him too!
If the Rabin 90125 demo's proved anything to me, it's that bringing in Jon A. was a great idea. The demo's are just so blah IMHO.
I'm pretty sure there's a cream or an ointment for Loveshine.
Hep Yadda has never bothered me much. I always thought it was decent enough for Yes in pop mode.
Maybe a few too many "yadda-yeah's" in there. But it's a catchy tune.
"Can I?" is sort of a remake of "We Have Heaven."
I don't know where they quote The Yes Album on The Ladder.
Right now, Syd Arthur hits the summer spot.
Autobuy!
I liked ...And Justice for Baal
But seriously, they're not coming anywhere near me this time so it looks like I'll sit this one out.
Magnification has been a real grower for me over the years.
When it was first released, I thought it was just all too tame, I guess would be the word. Definitely good, but too nice, too mannered,...
Original QVL violin player Donald Lax is living in Hawaii and is still active musically. Here's his webpage: http://www.mauiviolin.com/
He's available for weddings. Now that would make for a...
Nope, the new host is Tom Schillue. It was panelist Andy Levy (TV's Andy Levy) who made the KC comments.
CCR were a great example of what a band could do with 15-16 minutes a side (on the first 3 albums, anyway.)
All killer, no filler, not a single note wasted.
awesome, thanks for sharing!
I'd say that OYE, Keystudio and Magnification also get a lot better if you pare them down to the best 40 minutes or so.
That's what I do with The Ladder, OYE and Magnification (can't really...
The only worthwhile song on H & E is "Subway Walls," IMHO. Too bad they made us wait till the end of the album. A whole lot more of THAT, and it could have been a good album.
I blame the fact...
For those of us of a certain age, ASIA still brings back bitter memories. Those were the darkest days for Prog. When we heard that members of Yes, King Crimson and ELP were getting together, every...
Heh. When it comes to Popol Vuh, 35 minutes would be a LONG album!
But it's the quality that counts.
Yep, I really like their vocalist. Probably the best pure singer from the RPI scene outside of Aldo Tagliapietra.
PFM split up "Dove...Quando" for the same reason QVL split up the 2 related...
Can't say that I like "Hold On" or "City of Love." Why YES kept the former in the setlist for so long is beyond me. The rest of 90125 is solid, even if I never need to hear That Big Single ever...
One nice thing about them...they're short like so many Continental albums of the era, so you can just spin 'em both!
One note on the s/t: "Immagini Sfocate" ("Blurred Images") and "Il Cieco"...
A cute little anecdote concerning QVL and my own experience;
Cool story, SS!

Pretty much just listicle clickbait, but some items of note:
(keep in mind that the numbers do not...
Who sings this part?
THEN LET US DRINK - THEN LET US SMILE
- THEN LET US GO.
It sounds like Gabriel bows out after the "I want a drink..." part. So who sings that outro? Doesn't sound like...
The first album is a stone-cold classic of the RPI scene. I love the way all those short songs form into a cohesive whole.
The second is good, but nowhere near as classic as the first, IMHO. The...

Haun doesn't sing though, does he?
I know he was credited with backing vocals in Circa but I find it telling that he didn't do any on stage.
Not that Howe's backing vox are anything to write...
Just got and watched Like it Is : Live at the Mesa Arts Center.
Tough to watch because of Chris Squire. Every time he does one of his winks and grins at the audience or one of his bass flourishes...
All I have by him is Pollution.
It's...interesting. Love some of it, hate a little of it, some of it is just "meh." When it's good it's very good. But oh that crying at the end! There is no...
There is no concert etiquette anymore.
QFT. I was so excited for The Musical Box's Lamb Lies Down on B'way show a few years back, and nearly had it ruined by this guy and his girlfriend who got...
Talk has "Endless Dream," which is chock full of killer hooks and memorable melodies. And audible Tony Kaye Hammond organ to boot.
I'm not normally a Rabin fan, but fair's fair,,,he played and...
The ladder's not even close to my bottom 5:
Dollar Generator
Open Your Wallet
Onion
Hell on Earth
Tomato
When I saw them in Philly last year, the show didn't even hit the 2 hour mark.
2 (roughly 40-minute) albums in their entirety, 2 short-ish new songs (about 12 minutes) and the "Starship Trooper"...
Did I hear correctly during some of the between-song-banter, JA call Burger King "Shit"?...
Jon was just upset because they don't serve Rearranged Liver.
I think it's a very good album. I can definitely do without "If Only You Knew" which I always skip, and "The Messenger" which I used to like but find myself skipping it most of the time nowadays.
...
For me it would make more sense to just retire 'The Fish',
When Yes plays LDR/The Fish as part of the complete album, they keep it to about the length of the original track (maybe just a little...
My all time favorite FZ album. Safe choice? Yes. But classics are classics for a reason.
"Son of Mr. Green Genes" kicks unfathomable amounts of ass.
Brilliant album.
The set will contain a musical tribute to their late colleague.
Hope they are considering On the Silent Wings of Freedom & Can You Imagine
We already know (from the CIRCA: mega-medley) that...
I still think Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe was a slightly misleading band name.
It should have been Anderson Bruford Walkeman Howe and Whichever Former Bruford Rhythm Section-Mate is on...
I love everything of the Keystudio stuff. I admit. some of the lyrics on "That, That Is" are pretty dodgy, but that's our Jon for ya.
But I find myself reaching for the Keystudio comp (more...
ITA on "A Farewell to Arms." Love Lake's voice and Emo's "bagpipe" synth solo.
Very nice!
How can a nostalgia act be releasing new material?
Don't forget Liliental's sole album.
It was their only LP, but a good 'un.
Could Steve Howe's Yes Revisited be on the horizon?
#BlackMoonMatters
I sure like it a lot more than most ELP fans seem to.
Ah, he's in the desert. He needs a beach towel like I need rattlesnake serum :)
I attended and will be buying the inevitable DVD too. Always nice to have a souvenir. Especially if it does turn out to be their last go-round.
I watched that CIRCA Chronological Journey mega-medley in its entirety and I have to say, I can't think of any bassist aside from Sherwood who's better suited to replace Squire.
Really cool...
Topographic Oceans do have the worst tides :)
We Can Dry From Here
Yeah, Deadlines tour. I think they had a picture of the wrong lineup on the cover. Par for the course for bargain-bin discs like that one.
The tracklist is:
The Last Resort
Ghosts
No Return...
That's pretty cool that Howe was interested enough in what his former colleagues were doing to attend a show.
Peter Gabriel sat next to me once to see his own opening act, Youssou N'dour. For a...
