I think it is a mixed bag.

Harridan is better here than on the studio album. Fear of a BP is also great. But there are a number of songs that do not reach these heights.

The bluesy rock on the title track? The arena rock on Nowhere Now? The guitar riffing on Same Asylum? The guitar riffing on People who eat?

Barry visited the studio when the band recorded Dark Side. But they did not recognize him.

”Barry” on The Wall is about him. ”Barry, Barry - what has become of you?”

Unless everything was prerecorded, the last tour shows that he still can sing.

But I guess he feels way more comfortable in the low register.

I think the whole album peaks in the Hearts guitar solo.

Floyd is my favorite band of all time, but Rick’s solo stuff does not do much for me I’m afraid.

So far I haven’t felt like listening all the way to the end of any of these songs. Well maybe one.

It’s likely that Money will be the ”worst” song on the album. The rest i so much more laidback. And that will suit this sound so much better
